Floating in music!!

Vivek Barun

ANCIENT CONNECTION

For the past few months my connection with music has grown stronger than ever. First, there is the flute. If u remember It was my new year resolution to start learning flute which you can check out HERE. And so I did. Its been 3 months since I am learning Carnatic flute, which is also called the Venu.
Now most people know that Indian classical music has two distinct disciplines.. That of Hindustani and Carnatic.
As of now I cannot comment or compare between the two but I can say that I have become familiar with the basic elements of Carnatic music through my flute practice. Thus I am not lost when someone says Raag Kalyani or Roopak Talam. However this is just the beginning.
Also I have been busy doing Satsangs all over Bangalore(especially in the Yes+ centres),,, that is after Rashmin Bhaiya told me -- "Your job is to do satsangs! At least for this lifetime".  We have also had a few "Awakening To New Reality" Programs.. with grand sound system and all the other stuff that make people ask for more.
I have been really thinking to record some of the songs in the ANR and put it up in the blog here. I hope that might be coming soon...
If you are learning some instrument or are interested to learn, kindly leave a comment... I am looking forward to keeping in touch with u guys...
P.S: From now on you can expect the posts in this blog to be fairly frequent.:)

I watched a music video the other day with the band/artist standing in the middle of the street with cars rushing by, but all you see are the lights from the car. There's a city skyline behind the singer. And once in a while the camera changes to show a couple walking down a sidewalk with the same car effect. They cross each other's path and then turn and start to float towards each other. Once they get close, they kiss and lights surround them.

The music has great connection with our life. If you are able to get harmony from music then no one can make you unhappy. This connection is becoming strongest now.

I’ve written synopses and proposals and dread the thought of them. It’s very difficult but actually a good “test” because it can show you flaws in your book. It makes you focus.

I have to agree with both of your points. We really do need to be able to share information about sex in a healthy way with our kids so that they make decisions that respect themselves and their health.

After going through all the purging work, it’s easier to say no to new unnecessary stuff because there’s a 80-90% chance you’ll be carting out to the trash someday.

But the suggestion of using a how or, a why in a bullet point is indeed valuable. This is a way will create inquisitiveness and people will identify it with some of their problems thus inducing them to read on or, explore further.

I’m as genuinely me professionally with my coworkers as I am loudly with my roommates at home, but one “side” of me is more appropriate in a given situation than another. That need to more polish and hard.

What band made a music video with two guys wrapped up in ribbons with gold glitter floating around in blackness? It was an Indie song, the name of the song or band would be awesome, thanks!

I'm enrolled for a course called History of Medieval Music. I've had AP theory in high school, but quite a few of the people in the class are music majors who have had advanced theory. Is medieval music complicated stuff or what?

There's a festival at the end of July and the beginning of August called Dunegrass, held at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Michigan. They have a website:
dunegrassfestival.com.
